High strength brasses includes silicon/copper alloys that contain

< 20% Zinc
< 6% Silicon

Most common uses in castings that require greater strength with more than average corrosion resistance.

Higher strength and increased corrosion resistance exist with silicon red brasses that are used in products like basic pipe fitting materials, bushings and bearings. Lower levels of zinc are used in silicon red brasses.
